In 2014

In Serbia, with Q Club and Nenad Petković, co-director and IHP partner:

  • Provided monitoring and evaluation for the amfAR-funded GMT Support and Testing project for gay men, other men who have sex with men and trans* people; to promote HIV testing and increased availability of voluntary HIV counselling and testing; to reduce transmission of HIV and to lessen the consequences of HIV

  • Funded the extension of Q Club’s Psychosocial Support project, after Global Fund departure, to continue peer and one- to-one counselling for people living with HIV, their families and supporters

  • Published three issues of HIV Bilten
 HTB, with IHP and HIV i-Base, to promote evidence-based treatment and local research

In 2015

In Serbia, with Q Club and Nenad Petković́, co-director and IHP partner

Cooperation with Q-Club will be based on our partnership agreement and Q Club’s strategic plan for 2015 with the main goals to increase community-based testing for HIV and HCV in Serbia, empower patients on treatment issues and decrease levels of stigma in Serbia and the Western Balkans region. Besides that, Q-Club will continue to host the secretariat for NeLP Network of low HIV prevalence countries.

  • Promote easily accessible testing

o   Establishing Belgrade Checkpoint in the first half of 2015, as a community-based detection centre of HIV, HCV and other sexually transmitted diseases for gay men and other men who have sex with men and young people

  • Promote optimal treatment and care

o   Empowerment of HIV and hepatitis patients and developing treatment resources for patients

o   Treatment literacy trainings

o   Publishing of 3 issues of HTB magazine for Western Balkan countries

  • Reduce HIV/AIDS-related stigma

    • In the Western Balkan region with objectives including:

      • Changing public attitudes towards HIV/AIDS and people living with HIV

      • Informing media coverage

    • Improve attitudes of healthcare workers and social welfare workers

    • Support people living with HIV/AIDS and people vulnerable to HIV
